This is a ruin called "The Observatory." The roof of this structure is a network of concrete beams covered with large rocks.

In the same area is this tall statue of Kalevipoeg, a legendary hero. Supposedly there was a much larger one before the Soviet occupation, but it was torn down because they didn't want anything visible above the trees. See the alligator in the background?

This is just another nice view of Tallinn. The church with the green tower was on the cover of an Estonian language book I had, which I never used. My textbook was Paul F. Saagpakk's exhaustive Estonian-English dictionary.

One of the apartments I lived in was in an area called Väike-Õismägi, where the buildings are in concentric circles with a round lake in the center. Some people call this neighborhood the Great Wall of China.

One day, we got lost walking around, trying to find a street that did not exist. We ended up lost in the woods, and simply walked toward the coast until we came upon an area where some old fishermen lived.

This is a nice park in Tallinn. Somewhere in it is a statue that I really wanted to get a picture of, but never found--a person sort of halfway buried with a huge foot emerging from the ground.

Another apartment I lived in was in this cluster, in a large area of town that I was surprised to discover was newer than most other areas. They had planned to make everything look nice with parks and all. But due to finances, they left the whole place looking like a construction site.
