When and how did you discover Game Maker?
I discovered GM last August. I was going to pick up a game programming book on VB, and my eye caught a book called, "Game creation without any programming". It sounded cheese, but I decided to see what program they offered. It was called the "Games Factory". I decided to check it out at download.com, and I hated it. So I read the reviews of the program, and someone said that they perfered game maker. I checked that out. I think it was version 4.2 or maybe 4.1, I don't remember.
Have you used any other game creation programs?
I tried the games factory.....
What games or other projects have you made with (or for) Game Maker?
I have made:
Hard Hat: The Rebellion
Metal Man... Don't bother
Damaged Cubes
Block Man
And you can download them at:

What advice would you give new Game Maker users or those who would like to improve?
Read the manual prior to asking questions in the forum. You'll get eaten for breakfast there. Also, download as many examples and tutorials as you can. They really help. Avoid PM/Emailing people unless you have a real question. Don't ask for an editable of their game, or ask them "How do I make a game". Most people will not give editables, and even more will just laugh if you ask, "How do I make a game."
What elements of a game are most important to you and why?
Game play. I personally like a good fan game, but game play is the most important. Second is graphics. Unfortunately, most people look at this first.
Why do you make games? What is your primary inspiration, motivation, or both?
I think it's a great way to spend time. And I have a lot of fun doing it. GM makes it that much funner (is that a word?) because you get results, and excellent results almost instantly. Also, I have been interested in Game programming since I was 14. I'm 21 now.
Do you have other artistic pursuits other than game development? If so, what?
You could say I play the guitar... Lets not go there. I also used to be in a band. I have nothing on the net right now, but I might soon. I'll keep you updated.
