RoX is a freeware Windows game created by Ilya and Dmitriy Safro. It's similar in many ways to my Commodore 64 favorite
Boulder Dash, but with very stylish modern graphics and music.
I created this page because I found no RoX information or custom level sets on the Internet. The official Safrosoft site is down indefinitely.
But there is hope that we might eventually see more by Safrosoft, including a sequel to RoX. (For more on that, scroll to the bottom of this page.)
Download RoX
The latest version of RoX is 1.4, and the setup file is about 11MB. You might be able to find it

here (in the Games section). If you can't find it anywhere, let me know.
RoX Levels
RoX includes an editor that lets you create your own level packs when you're finished or frustrated with the 69 pack-in levels.
Many RoX fans have distributed their own, which you can extract into your RoX\Levels folder and play.
These are some newer levels that were not on safrosoft.com. One of them was created by me (Smashing 13) and the rest were sent to me by others:
If you send me levels, please put them in a ZIP file. Because they are plain text, my e-mail client mixes them up with the message.

RoX Help
Level 57
There's some controversy over whether level 57 ("Omega") is possible. Here are two answers:
Cheating
On the main menu, press and hold
Esc and
Space when you select
Play. This (temporarily) unlocks all the levels in a collection.
RoX Music
You can put MP3 files into your RoX\Music folder to have them play in the game. Safrosoft released additional music packs at one point, but these are now included in version 1.4.
There was also a 2002 Safro music CD that was on MP3.com before that site went down. It's mostly what you hear in the game, but in a different format. The songs are good and I have permission to distribute them. I just need to find a way to handle the bandwidth. Here's one of them, anyway:
